Amish Country United has announced the signing of 23 year-old forward Connor Davis. Davis has played for Indian Lake High School, Classics Eagles, Columbus Crew academy, and Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
In high school, Connor picked up All-Ohio honors in both soccer and football, where he excelled as a kicker, even holding the conference record for most field goals made. In two seasons at Indian Lake, he scored an astounding 54 goals and picked up 30 assists, so he is no stranger to creating chances and putting the ball in the back of the net. After missing his entire junior year due to a bad injury, prompting two surgeries and a long recovery of fourteen months, Davis joined the Columbus Crew his senior year of high school and played an entire season with the academy team. He also spent 5 seasons with Classics Eagles.
At MVNU, he registered 17 goals and 15 assists in 74 appearances for the Cougars. During his collegiate career, Connor played alongside current ACU players Zach Miller, Brandon Mount, Jared Mount, Gerardo Rivas, Caleb Sayre, and Brady Thompson, so he is already fairly accustomed to the Amish Country team culture.
Midfielder Zach Miller holds his good friend and new ACU teammate in very high regard. "Not only is Connor a great soccer player, but a great man as well. He will add many things to ACU and I can't wait to play alongside him again!"
Connor is a very technical player and can play various positions including striker, in attacking midfield, or on the wing. He will wear number 9 for his new club. (Note: Joe Agha-Khan has switched from number 9 to number 13, which became available after Alex Mast departed the club earlier this year.)
